HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – REGIONAL DISHES
Join us on an adventure into real Indian Dining.
HYDRABADI CUISINE
The aristocracy of Hydrabad were famous for their spectacular entertainments and sumptuous food. The key flavours in Hydrabadi dishes are coconut, tamarind, peanuts and sesame seeds. The cuisine draws flavours from the rich legacy of the Moghuls.
THE LUCKNAWI CUISINE- THE CUISINE OF ROYALTY
Created using classic slow cooking techniques for tenderness with authentic nawabi sauces made using cashew nuts and other rich ingredients. This gives these dishes a silky and luxurious consistency.
RAJASTHANI CUISINE
The ancient and princely state of Rajasthan gave rise to a regal cuisine. The Rajas would dine on the meat or the fowl captured in their aristocratic hunting expeditions. This is still the culture today.
PANJABI CUISINE
This cuisine originated from the Panjab region of northern India. It consists of a diverse range of dishes. The main masalas in Panjabi dishes consist of onion, garlic and ginger and are usually mildly spiced. This region is famous for its Tandoor (clay oven) dishes.
BENGALI CUISINE
Bengali cuisine is known for its subtle (yet sometimes fiery) flavours. It is the only cuisine in the Indian subcontinent that is served as courses, like French cuisine.
SOUTH INDIAN CUISINE
South Indian cuisine centres around rice and coconut and includes dry curried vegetables, well-seasoned meat, seafood from Indian coastal areas and a host of coconut-based chutneys.

★★★★★5 out of 5 stars on Google
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at this lovely Indian restaurant. From the moment we arrived, everything about the experience was fantastic.
We tried the lamb biryani and absolutely loved both the presentation and this particular style of biryani; it was beautifully served and full of flavour. All the food was delicious, and we truly enjoyed every part of our meal.
The service was exceptional. The waiters were super friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. To finish, we tried the homemade ice creams, which were delicious; especially the pistachio and zafran.
Just before we left, the waiter kindly prepared a small digestive for us, which was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect way to end the evening.
We’ve just moved to the area and will definitely be making this our new go to Indian restaurant. Highly recommended!Kathryn Hansraj -
★★★★★5 out of 5 stars on Google
We decided to go to Zari Restaurant last night after hearing great things about this place.
It certainly didn’t disappoint! The moment you walk in you’re greeting by a member of staff who will show you to your table. From that moment on, you’re attended to by some wonderful attentive staff who go above and beyond to make your experience as enjoyable as possible! The food comes out quickly and is beautifully presented. It tasted amazing! They do a choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails. Mine was cool sunrise (I think) it was super refreshing 😄
We sat for a while after our meal and enjoyed the ambiance. We never felt rushed to leave. I cannot fault this place. It truly is a gem!
It’s fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly, knowledgable staff and outstanding food!
Thank you Zari, we will be back ❤️Kelly Marlow -

Best Indian food near Gatwick airport!
Things that really stood out for me:
Gracious, friendly, professional service - everyone has a real passion for the quality dishes created in their kitchen.
Lovely twist (literally!) in popadoms
Immaculately clean crockery, cutlery and glasses. Warm plates for every dish. Cobra beer on draught. Beautiful pint glasses.
Very clean lavatories. Unobtrusive chilled music to dine by.
Herb and spice blends are all made by the chefs in house.
Great variety of both popular Indian classics, and also some very special regional dishes.
I will definitely eat at Zari again when l am next in the Gatwick area.Mark EDGERTON -

We had an amazing first time at Zari restaurant. It was a family get together and my sister’s birthday and Zari came recommended to me and it didn’t fail. Each of the meals we got for 10 of us was so tasty and well made. The chef gets our applaud. The chine was authentic with fresh ingredients and scents to make your mouth melt. The atmosphere was nicely furnished with a feeling of being in India itself. We’d definitely book again and have a meal again in the nearest future.

We were a group of 6 on a busy Saturday night. They have a great choice of dishes and good vegetarian and vegan options. The food quality and presentation was superb and the service was excellent, especially considering that the staff were very busy. I really enjoyed the lamb biryani and the flavour of the prawn dhansak was exceptional. All the dishes we had were good! They made us feel really welcome. I would definitely recommend.
